Update:
7/24 Vegas began losing her battle to her injuries. Our family had to make the call to let her go peacefully. We want to thank everyone who helped to defray the costs of her care. We know that we did try everything we could possibly have tried.
7/19 Thursday, July 19th our rescue dog, Vegas was hit by a driver as she tried to cross the street after getting out the back door. She sustained numerous injuries including a broken ball socket on her back leg, broken ribs, and a broken hip. Unfortunately, the oldest son (10) was just feet away and witnessed the incident.
We took her to the emergency hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa where she's been since.
The vets were able to stabilize her as she was going into shock upon arrival. Since that night she continues to make improvements. Currently, she's on the road to a long recovery.
Those that know her, know she is a fighter. The veterinary medical team did not initially expect her to come home and fully recover.
Many have asked how they could help. Because of this, we are setting up this page. If you were looking for how to help, this is a great way as her care costs keep rising. We have reached the 5K mark and the number continues to rise.
I'll be posting updates here often.
There's still much care she'll need to make a full recovery but we know she is strong and will be home soon.
If you'd like to contribute it is greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly to her medical bills.
Thank you so much!
Check out some pictures of her below.
