Last year Attila was diagnosed with a rare mouth cancer known as Ameloblastoma. This cancer tends to be locally aggressive and left untreated can result in a loss of respiratory function as well as damage to the tissues and bone of the mouth. After an initial surgery to remove the tumor we were advised to wait and see if it returned before doing any more extensive surgeries. Unfortunately, it returned, and she had to have a portion of her upper jaw removed. On September 11, 2018, Dr. Fred Labavitch of the Portland Animal Cancer Clinic was kind enough to remove this mass for her. We are very grateful for his help. Now we are left with the task of providing the funds necessary to cover this procedure. As one can imagine, cancer treatment for a pet is quite costly. We are reaching out and asking for help from the people who know Attila as well as people who may not. Attila is very sweet, and if you have met her you undoubtedly love her, and if you have not, her gentle and kind nature would win any heart. So while we hate to ask, we hope that you might be able to help contribute to Attila’s cancer fund.
