There’s no easy way to say this.
John Clifford passed away on Thursday, February 27th, 2020.
With your help, in 2017 we raised $20,000+ from 300+ donors to fight cancer with John. His wife, Camille, wanted to let you all know it was very helpful in getting treatment and is thankful of everyone’s support.
You might not have known John. He was always positive and making people laugh. If you know him, he may have been at the back of your mind in recent years. There’s a reason for that: Cancer is debilitating.
During the last three years, being unfit to work, John largely stayed home with his wife and daughter. He was also blessed with a new son in November 2019.
John’s wife, Camille, is undoubtedly having a difficult time coping with this loss. Adding to this is the stress of arranging a funeral & its heavy costs as a single mother. An average funeral in America costs between $7,000 and $12,000. The cost to raise a child is unpalatable.
It's clear John's community can do great things together. With the average US consumer doing quite well today, you can help support someone through a difficult time. All funds go to financially supporting Camille and her children.
Note: YouCaring deleted the previous 2017 fundraiser when GoFundMe bought out YouCaring. I’ll perform this fundraiser with the same financial transparency, making public the calculations and pictures of a check and the recipient's deposit confirmation.
As John's former co-worker, I've reached out to other co-workers. However, if you know him outside of the workplace, I ask that you please share this to the appropriate people. Thank you in advance.
John’s funeral will be held at Saint Monica’s Catholic Church on Monday, March 9th, at 9:45AM. All are welcome.
