Hi friends!
As you may know, I've been on HRT for a year! But, right now I am not sure how I'll be able to continue on it. Backing up for those who are not familiar with me, I'm an autistic person that was kicked out of my home recently for coming out as trans & nonbinary and on HRT.
Since then, I've had to move (my partner and friend took me in out of the kindness of their hearts) and leave my part-time job (the commute after I moved was hours long and was too hard on my tiny wallet and old car) and I just started another job that will pay pretty well but as of right now I've used up nearly all of my savings to survive. I had car issues, needed to pay for bills & food & meds so now I'm down to very little left in my name.
I've had to leave my current HRT provider because they are hours away and only open on days I'm working (I work 40 hrs now/10 hr days). I've run out of options for HRT help in my area as either they are not seeing any new clients, cost too much, don't have good safety reviews from trans patients, or require me to have PrEP before I could get HRT. One of the few places with low-cost services shut down recently so everywhere is packed and the soonest I can get into a gender-specific clinic is in December. I've called EVERYWHERE and asked around everywhere from members of the local trans community. Which for an autistic person like me, used every last of my spoons/energy.
My last hope is a really great place for gender care but without insurance I'm doomed. I made an appointment anyway because I'm willing to use the very last of my meager savings to get the care I need. It's literally life or death for a trans person. I am not exaggerating.
The expenses that I need help covering are for the initial appointment, the first appointment, lab work, gas (it's a bit far but it's all I have), the doses I'll need, following appointments, possible insurance coverage I can pay for, and any extra cost that comes up. As an example of how much I'll need: I was quoted that just the first appointment is $260 and each one after is $90 out of pocket. That's not including the initial, labs, shots, or gas.
The deadline is extremely tight on this but I really need to have my shots consistently for my mental health as well as my physical health. So I'll appreciate any kind of monetary help I can get to pay for this upcoming appointment until I can get my first paychecks. (Seriously, just started this new job.)
Thanks for taking the time to read this. It's really nerve-wracking putting myself out there asking for help. If you can't donate, no worries! Please feel free to share my link! Every share helps!
