My dad retired in May 1985 after over 30 yrs as a Civil Servant with EDD. My parents were looking forward to their retirement years in Paradise to enjoy the quiet life after raising two children in the busy city of Los Angeles. The thing they cherished most was spending time with family and friends in the quaint town of Paradise, California. They gave back to their community by providing blankets for children in need and cancer patients and were active in the Masonic Lodge. Dad even started a band called the Appleridge Quintet to keep alive the Big Band Era and Dance Music in his community. After 33 yrs their lives were suddenly changed by the Paradise fire. Now at 90 and 95 they are finding themselves having to start over.
