Hi friends!
So, Clark is *nearly* done with his bachelor’s degree in secondary education. Words cannot express how proud I am of him and also how ready we both are for him to be done!
The last step before he graduates in May (!!!) is an intensive semester of student teaching. He’ll be teaching history and economics full time at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor through April and he’s currently getting all of his ducks in a row. He doesn’t anticipate being able to work on top of it, though, and I’m starting to see how much this impending financial hit is weighing on him and taking him out of the experience. We did our best to prepare and have come up with a few tricks to make the short term a bit more manageable and less scary, but the stress and disappointment of not having been able to gear up more for this period during the pandemic is still very much there.
If you wish you lived closer to buy him the occasional beer or ever wanted to give him a thoughtful gift but didn't know what he might want or need or what would be meaningful, please know that a little bit of a boost right now would be an amazing way to cheer him on, lighten his mental load, and even make it possible for him to blow off a little steam now and then over these next five months of especially hard work.
I want him to know just how widely loved and supported he is going into this emotionally demanding career. So, I hope you’ll forgive this shameless plug for a little bit of extra help to carry him across the finish line in one piece!
We know that the last year or so has strained us all and there are lots of worthy places to send a little extra cash right now, but any support you feel compelled to share is appreciated beyond measure as we enter this especially austere period in our lives -- a little truly goes a long way.
Thank you for considering contributing to his education, career, and wellbeing in this way, for being the wonderful people that you are, and for the myriad ways you have already supported Clark and the both of us in the past. We love you, and we look forward to returning the favor and seeing you again soon!
