Voices of Reason is hosting the March 24th March for Our Lives in Bloomington.
Please consider donating what you can to help fund the march and related events and activities for gun reform.
3-18-18 Update: We have been asked to provide a sign language interpreter. We anticipate this expense to be around $100.00, so our goal has been raised to $750.00.
3-11-18 Update: We have added additional items we are trying to fund including March for Our Lives buttons, additional postcards and flyers for the rally as expected attendance numbers swell, and Get Out the Vote reusable bags for rally crew to carry postcards and flyers for distribution to attendees.
Here is the Original message from our organizer, Jodie Slothower:
The planning committee organizing March for Our Lives Blo-No is putting together an event on Saturday, March 24th that looks to be meaningful.
We would also like to print materials for the students' walkout on Wednesday, March 14th.
So that the event can be safe and so that people can follow through by contacting legislators, we need financial support.
We would like to raise $500 for the following:
Yellow safety hats or vests for rally crew to wear;
Postcards for people to complete and then we will get to legislators;
Fliers with information on sensible gun reform and how to contact legislators; and
A geocache overlay for Snapchat so people can promote that they are at the event and so people all over the world can see on the Snapchat map that we had a big crowd.
We anticipate up to 1000 people (maybe more) on Saturday, March 24th from 10:45 am to about 12:30 pm. We appreciate your help.
If we raise more than $500, we will use that to print additional postcards and fliers. There is also a possibility the money could be used for another rally with Voices of Reason or be given to the students for a project.
Voices of Reason will reuse the yellow hats or safety vests.
