We (Corey and Kori) are so excited to have our baby boy, Asa Collins, growing and kicking up a storm in my belly right now! He's due sometime in March 2022 (we can't wait to meet him!). We have decided to do a fundraiser for our little surprise baby instead of a traditional baby shower to help meet the unexpected financial needs of medical bills etc that come with having a little one on the way. We may not have a lot but we have our love for each other and our family and that's always enough. We are amazed every day at our growing love for this wiggle worm.
Many may know that while we're over the moon about our new baby coming, this past year has thrown us some curve balls... Corey was out of work for 2 months on medical leave for an illness that we can't seem to get diagnosed, our housing lease wasn't renewed and finding a suitable place to move to (while pregnant...ugh) is not going well honestly, and a few other stressful game changers... all together a lot of big changes for us! While baby onesies and such are super cute (and we'll definitely be needing them lol), the best help we could get would be towards our bills for our wonderful midwives and prenatal testing/ultrasounds so we can focus on our baby boy when he arrives without the burden of medical debt. The midwives at Primal Roots Midwifery are so supportive and informative and empowering in ways we never knew was possible and we feel nothing but at peace and secure with their insight, wisdom, and care. We've already put a downpayment on the midwife fees and any amount we receive after having paid off these bills will go towards diapers, car seat, and other such necessities.
We ask that you give from your heart only what you can afford - we are grateful for any amount big or small (as well as for your well wishes and love in its place!). We're also grateful to anyone who prefers the old school physical gifts over monetary ones - new, hand-me-downs, handmade, thrifted - all good and appreciated, no matter what :)
Financial breakdown:
Total for midwives is $5500 is paid by 36 weeks (February) which is a discounted rate ($7500 if not paid by then). This is our major bill that is not covered by our insurance. If you prefer to send a check by mail instead of using an online payment through this fundraiser site, that's fine too!
