Trip to Scotland for our friends
Our friends have suffered tremendous loss, and while they have long dreamed of going to Scotland, it won't happen without our help.
Their children gave them funds to make their dream vacation happen, but then tragedy struck, and the money was used for hotels during hospital stays. We can help where one of their dear children no longer can, and we think we can raise this back for them.
$2500 covers two flights to London, trains to Edinburgh, and a week of hotels, with a little left over for a few meals. Anything beyond that will allow them to have additional adventures.
I'm trying to keep names off of this, for the sake of search engines and to truly surprise them. Please, if you want to share, do so privately. We would love to surprise them. --S.P & J.B.

(part 2 of 2) We can’t thank you enough. Times are not always easy now and sometimes there are more bad days than good but to come home today and see this surprise brought huge, ugly tears. Luckily Jordan was home with a shoulder for me to cry on. You have given us a dream, something positive to look forward to. The dream Jillian, Jessie and Jordan had hoped to give us. So thank you all for helping to give us hope and something to look forward to to get us through the holidays. Tulach Ard!!! Not sure what that means but it is a Scottish battlecry and I will say that while standing in heather on a hill in Scotland some day very soon. All our love and thanks. Peter and Marnie

Peter and I just received the most incredible gift. Thank you!!!!! We have always had a dream of going to Scotland, ok, I have but Pete always dreams of me being happy and smiling so it’s the same dream. LOL Anyway, that dream almost came true about 5 years ago when our kids, Jessie, Jillian and Jordan started a savings account to send us on our journey. The fund was at about $1,000 when they gave it to us for Christmas. Two years later we received the unfortunate news about Jillian’s heart failing and over the next two years Pete and I drained our travel fund to stay close to Jillian no matter the hospital/city she was in. No questions asked and no regrets. So to receive this most incredible gift from our friends and family is just...words don’t come close...absolutely amazing and truly the most wonderful gift. Hello-- we managed to get a short extension on this fundraiser, and are going through December 1, at which point I'm going to leave a travel book, bottle of Scotch, and certified check on their kitchen table for them discover when they return from work. If there's anyone in your circles you haven't reached, now's the time! Thanks for all you've done-- we can't wait to hear their reaction to all this. xx

We've crossed the $2000 mark with less than 3 weeks to go! Plumfund has a limit of how much time we can leave these funds open, so whatever we raise in the next three weeks is what we will deliver to Marnie and Pete. Hi! Exciting news: WE ARE OVER THE HALFWAY POINT! And to the best of my knowledge, we've gotten here without them finding out about it. Way to go, team! We are so excited that the news is starting to spread, and are certain that we can put it over the top. Please see the previous update on how to share this post to your facebook without them seeing it, or message me if you're confused. If each of us finds one more person to contribute, we can end this thing, and be that much closer to leaving a check with a bottle of wine (or maybe some haggis) on their kitchen table. Hi friends, Thanks so much for stepping up and getting this moving with us. We're over halfway to our first thousand bucks, which is a good start. The biggest challenge is raising the funds while also keeping it a secret – it makes it so much harder to spread the word! If you want to share on your social networks, when you select "share with," you can select "Friends except" and exclude anyone on your friends list. I'm confident that if we can build on this momentum, we'll get their funds raised and they can plan their trip this fall! I've also reached out to airlines and travel agents to see if we can subsidize our efforts. If you have any connections, I'd really appreciate it! Much love to all.
