Rachel was nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) Explore STEM camp. There she will plan for a "Mission to Mars." The kids will have interaction with a variety of STEM professionals, a former NASA astronaut and use the latest technology to create solutions to help overcome the challenges associated with colonizing Mars. Rachel will take on the role of an interplanetary health official, use robotic skills to program a rover, design and construct a habitat capable of sustaining human life and investigate the attempted sabotage of her mission. She will have the opportunity to do tasks from the medical, engineering and forensic science fields.
