This is Boi, He lives here in the pueblo of Huatulco, Mexico. He is a street dog that has come to our place on the daily to hang, eat and exchange affection.
Last month, he came by with a limb literally dangling and swollen double it's size. We do not know how his leg was completely broken in two places but suspect he was either hit by a car or someone hit him with a rock.
We had a cast put on him twice. The first time he gnawed it off and the second time the wound got infected. The vet had no choice but to take the cast off and refused to re cast until it healed.
The open wound is now almost healed but the bone will not fuse and surgery is now needed. Boi needs a titanium plate, pins and screws to help the break heal.
The local vet has been kind enough to work with us on costs and meds since Boi Is a street dog but he now needs surgery from a specialist. We're asking to see if any friends or family are willing to contribute to Boi's medical needs.
He is an amazing athlete, He loves to run and we would hate to see him lose his leg due to another infection. Anything you can give for this sweet loving Boi will be appreciated.
