Hello, our 9 year old golden retriever dog, Chance is in need of an amputation of their toe as there is a growth on their left paw. Next week, doctors are doing more testing to see if Chance has lung cancer or any other conditions. In the meantime, they have already scheduled Chance's surgery for October 22nd with a cost of $2600 which does not include the costs for prior testings that still need to be done nor does it include costs of medications and any estimates for post surgery aftercare and recovery. The $4000 amount we are requesting is currently an estimate which includes the surgery, testings and medications but we are unsure how much further costs there will be until the actual procedure happens. For now, this is our request but know that it could increase as we get closer to date. Should there be any extra money left over after the procedural costs and medications; it will be used for any other aftercare needed for Chance and any other money extremely not needed for Chance it will be donated to an organization that helps funds animals healthcare. We, the family have applied for grants to assist with these finances and so far there is 1 reviewing our case but there is no certainty just yet. In the meantime, we cannot take the risk waiting. Chance is in need of your support to make sure that this surgery will happen. We are asking for your monetary support so that Chance can have a healthy life with us. Chance is a loving golden retriever whom we rescued in 2012 as they were mistreated by their previous owners. (My family have been dog rescuers since we had been children - we always adopt and never buy our dogs from pet stores or dog breeding farms.) Chance came to us during a time when we were going through our own medical condition and recovery; and gave us so much life and joy. As we all know the health care system is expensive as is the health care for animals - there's simply not enough resources for our loved ones. Your monetary help will give Chance the chance to be able to live more comfortably and healthily. We thank you for your help and for keeping all animals safe and loved. We will be sure to keep you updated throughout Chance's journey.
