My beautiful cat, ChiChi, has a mammary gland tumor. X-rays have shown that it hasn't yet metastasized to her lungs or other parts of her body (as far as they can see). This, combined with her age and the relative small size of the tumor, makes her a good candidate for surgery. The vet has recommended a radical chain mastectomy to remove the tumor and other glands on the same side. This will hopefully remove enough tissue to prevent the cancer from spreading elsewhere.
The vet gave an approximate figure of around $1200.
Without surgery, the vet estimates she may only have about 6 months left, depending on how fast the tumor grows and spreads.
I am willing and prepared to foot the bill on my own, but I am greatly touched and humbled by any contribution to her surgery and recovery costs. My pets mean the world to me, and it's hard for me to imagine a life without my sweet baby Chi. She has so much sweetness and spirit in her still. If there is any chance I can help prolong her life for a few years or more, without compromising her quality of life, I have to try.
Thank you for reading. If you make a contribution, please leave your mailing address (or PM it to me on FB) so that I can send a token of my gratitude. And if you are ever in need in the future, or even now -- please let me know how I can help.
