Little Marble was spayed Thursday and they said she came through the surgery just fine. Marble was sent home and the next morning she was lethargic and her gums were white and feet were cold. Marble was taken to the vet hospital and has had 3 blood transfusions. Before she was spayed her RBC level was at 40 it is at a stable of 18 now.

My sister and her family is going through a financial hardship right now and needs our help. Please help them pay for her vet bill. Please pray for Marble!

A message from my sister.......Well we are hearbroken this morning. We had to make the toughest decision any pet owner would have to make. We got a call last night around 11:30 saying her levels dropped again. We couldn't keep giving her blood transfusions. They said it was a cyst...not an ulcer. I think I mixed the two up in my head because stomach ulcers are common. But a cyst..not so much. They said if it didn't rupture when it did, it would have down the road. And who knows...maybe if it happened later in life she may have been strong enough to handle the surgery she would need to remove it. But being she was just spayed and loosing so much blood into her stomach she just couldn't become stable enough handle it. Thank you so much for all your kind words and prayers.

Marble was the runt of the litter to a feral cat and her Momma took her siblings and left her behind at about 8 to 10 weeks old. She first tested positive for FeLV and was put on an antibiotic treatment and 6 months later tested negative! No one expected any complications from this routine spay surgery. My 13 year old nephew took such good care of her when she was so tiny, giving her all her medication and nursed her back to health. She was thriving! He was so, so happy to find out she didn't have FeLV. All blood work came back normal last week and they said she was ready to be spayed. Now this...its like a one-two punch. Hoping she starts regenerating her own RBC count and becomes healthy enough to find out the underlying cause. Hopefully we will know more in the morning.
