When Jack Sparrow was just three months old, he developed a watery ear, a third eye-lid issue, and breathing problems. After about five vet visits, we finally found the culprit. While Jack was under sedation for neutering, our vet discovered a nasopharyngeal polyp possibly originating in his middle ear. She was not able to remove it. Our next steps are an MRI and consultation with a surgeon, followed by surgery.

As a survivor of domestic abuse, having had a cat taken from me then, saving Jack means a lot to me. He's only six months old and is an affectionate little guy.

If his condition is left untreated, it would be fatal. If you feel led, any help is much appreciated. In thanks, I will create a drawing of one of your beloved pets. <3

Latest Update

Jack had his surgery today because I brought him into the animal hospital on an emergency basis due to a turn for the worse overnight. The polyp removal went well and the doctors stayed the least invasive as possible. They were very good. He is home and recovering, and because of your generosity, I was able to raise enough funds that my parents didn't have to donate the $500 they had pledged in case it got that high. The estimate at the hospital today (pre-treatment) ranged from 1,624.40 to 3,318.69 not including medications or unforeseen complications. At the end of the day they sent me home with a bill of 1,034.00. All said and done, because of other vet visits directly related to this polyp issue, the costs were over 1,300.00. This covered a portion of those, too. Thank you all for your generosity and kindness. Jack, myself, and my family say thank you. I will continue to draw the pet portraits for everyone and send them along. With gratitude, Rebekah
