Life saving surgery for a sweet dog
Hello everyone, my name is Flip, I am trying to raise money on the behalf of my dog, Gabbi. About a month ago I found out she has cancer, she has a large tumor in her spleen that needs to be removed as soon as possible. I was very conflicted as to whether or not I should crowdfund for this, anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely hate asking for any sort of monetary help when I am going through a hard time financially but I would do anything for her and I feel like I am running out of time. I haven’t been able to save any money over the last month because I have been behind on bills and I had to get my car repaired so that I wouldn’t lose either of the two jobs I have to support her and I. She is 13 years old, I know that is old for a dog but she is still really active and I am confident she will make a good recovery and that this surgery will give her more time here with us. The prognosis the vet gave me for how much time she has left if she does not get this tumor removed was 3-6 months, if the tumor ruptures her spleen she would have to be put down. I just don’t want her to suffer for the rest of the time she has on this earth. I am hoping to raise enough money to cover at least most of the medical costs. I hate to have to update with bad news, with the money from the campaign I was able to bring her in for more comprehensive x-rays. They told me last time I brought her in that her chances were good since she is still so active, but after having these x-rays done we can see that the cancer has spread to one of her lungs, the vet basically told me that she has a 0% chance of survival if she was to undergo this surgery. Thank you so much to all of you who donated, since she cannot have the surgery that I originally was campaigning for, if you need your money back I totally understand and you can contact me at uncannyvalleyboy@gmail.com and I will send it back go you. All of the money from this campaign will be going toward medical expenses for her in the last stage of her life, anything left over after the inevitable happens will be donated to other folks who need help for their pets.
