GOAL REACHED! THANK YOU, ALL!

Last spring, my latest rescue, Fluffin, was thin, half bald, and very scared. With daily feedings, he got better, but it was six months before he let me pet him for the first time! I got him to come inside just in time before it got cold, but I need to find him a good, patient home where he will feel safe. (He is still really scared of other people.) In any case, it is now time to get him neutered, tested, etc. Sadly, funds are low and I need to ask for help with expenses: Can you help? Please?

This is the final bill. One or two charges vary from how they were calculated on the estimate. I added some items to the fundraiser “wish list” that were not part of the estimate. Thanks to donations that came in from seven people, a payment of $315 has been applied toward this total! πŸ’›

Dr. Wiegert decided to go ahead with the cryptorchid neuter, but discovered there was no retained testicle! Fluffin only had one. This is rare. Very good news is that he tested negative for both FeLV and FIV. He had a lot of ear mites, though. His ears were flushed and medicated. He was microchipped. He was dewormed. I think he has already been vaccinated. They will still keep him overnight for recovery.

Dr. Wiegert said that because of the complication with Fluffin’s procedure, and because they are trying to let their staff off early because of the snow, they are rescheduling the cryptorchid neuter to tomorrow. They are keeping poor Fluffin overnight. πŸ˜”

I just spoke with Dr. Wiegert. He said poor Fluffin was so scared he was climbing the walls. πŸ₯Ί They were preparing to neuter him and discovered he has one undescended testicle and will need a “cryptorchid neuter.” Unfortunately, it is a more involved procedure and costs twice as much as a regular neuter. <sigh> At the moment, he is sedated and the groomer is dealing with all the mats and burrs in his very dense, high-maintenance coat. He develops a mat a week. I have never seen anything like it. He is not easy to groom at home. He gets annoyed and gives me cute warning bites. πŸ˜’

Thank you SO MUCH for the donations we have received so far! Thank you, “Anonymous” and Leslie! πŸ’›πŸ™πŸ½ I managed to get Fluffin to his appointment without too much hassle. He was going a little crazy when I wasn’t feeding him a big breakfast like I normally do. In the car, his meows were killing me; he sounded so forlorn. πŸ₯Ί He’ll forgive me, right?
