Many people know that Joshua and I are in the midst of planning our wedding, which means life would happen and throw curve balls at every opportunity.
Saturday, our dog, Anubis, was appearing a bit off and under the weather, so we monitored him through the night to see if he was eating and drinking, which he was not. His energy and strength was rapidly decreased on Sunday morning, so we headed to the vet. We were able to find out that he did have fluid on his abdomen and had a septic abdomen, so they had us transfer locations for a more in depth ultrasound.
The ultrasound came back with no mass or tumors visible, but his fluid was worsening and our options became surgery or euthanize. We decided we had to try for his sake, so he is undergoing emergency surgery right now.
Total, his vet bills will come in right around $10,000 (we are already $7,500 in), so if anyone is feeling generous this holiday season.. we would love for your help in offsetting even some of these costs so we can continue planning our wedding and providing for our children without an extra financial strain. We just couldn't give up on our fur kid though, so if nothing else - send prayers for his safe and speedy recovery! We want him for several more years - drool and all!!
