My brother-in-law passed away unexpectedly in August of this year, just 1 week shy of his 40th birthday. My sister lost her best friend, husband of 15 years and father of their 5 kids, ages 5-15. My sister has devoted the last 15 years to providing a stable home environment for her family, attending sporting events, band concerts, field trips and dance recitals. Supporting her family through these actions is so important to her that she and Greg became experts in budgeting for a family of 7 on a sole income. Before he passed, they were shopping around for a couch, a much needed replacement for their current couch that they have had for the last 10+ years. My sister has put off any large purchases indefinitely as she tries to figure out the day-to-day expenses to support herself and 5 children. I am hoping to gift my sister and 5 nieces and nephews with a new couch for Christmas to shed just a little light on their first holiday season without Greg.
