Don Evans, husband, father of two, pappaw of six, has been given a month to live at best.
What started as multiple sclerosis in 2001, causing him to become disabled, turned into needing a quadruple bypass after a heart attack in 2011. From there, he developed diabetes and liver failure, and was refused a liver transplant or donation from family due to prior health issues.
On October 21st, he and his family were told that Don is in stage four pancreatic cancer, which had already metastasized. The cancer has spread to his liver, bile duct, and lymph nodes. The oncologist says he will be gone by Thanksgiving and all anyone can do at this point is, “make him comfortable.”
Due to his inability to work for nearly twenty years, Don does not have funding for the total expenses associated with his illness and upcoming death. His wife is providing around the clock care at home, making it impossible for her to work.
Any help provided, even just a dollar, is not only accepted with immense gratitude, but will go toward these end of life bills and eventually a burial and headstone.
