Our dear friend Taylor has spent the last decade helping kids as a middle-school math teacher, and now we're asking others to help her.

In March of last year, Taylor was diagnosed with a brain tumor--a return of a growth that was discovered and removed six years earlier. We will update this page with more information as we learn it, so please stay tuned.

In the meantime, we want to raise enough money to cover Taylor's medical costs and lost wages, so she can focus only on getting well. We would appreciate anything you can contribute.

Please share the link to this site, too! Thank you!

Latest Update

Taylor is home from the hospital and recovering well. She's feeling all right, though battling some tough on-and-off headaches. The surgery also affected the movement in her left leg and foot, so she's working on exercises to help rebuild those neural connections and get her mobility back to normal. We'll keep posting updates here, so please stay tuned. Thanks very much to everyone who has reached out, contributed, or sent gift cards for meals. Your supportive messages--on this site or via text, emails, etc.--are much appreciated as she heals!

Taylor's surgery went smoothly yesterday and she is recovering in the ICU. We're waiting for test results to know more about next steps for treatment and how long she'll be hospitalized. We'll continue to update this page as we learn more. Also, many of you have asked about sending meals--thank you! Taylor's visitors will be extremely limited for the next weeks, as her brain will require minimal stimulation to heal from surgery. In lieu of visitors bringing meals, we're coordinating gift cards for restaurants, groceries, takeout services, etc. Please contact Kelsey at kelseythompson026@gmail.com if you'd like to take part. And thank you for all your healing wishes, prayers, and support!

Taylor has been going through chemo over the last year, and while everything was going well through December, the scan in February showed differently. The brain tumor had grown 1 cm in 2 months’ time, which makes the doctors think the tumor could have progressed to stage 3. This change and level of growth suggest that the tumor is now malignant/cancerous. To confirm this, Taylor will be having brain surgery on Monday 3/9 to biopsy the tumor and remove any that they can. After some time to heal from surgery, Taylor will begin 6 weeks of radiation and 6 months of chemotherapy. These treatments will put her out of work for the rest of the school year and summer. We want to help Taylor with further medical costs and the financial strain of being out of work for a long period. Please share this page and help us support Taylor. We appreciate anything folks can contribute—no amount is too small! We’ll post updates as we have them. Continued prayers and support are much appreciated!

Some good news to update everyone on: Taylor just had her first MRI since beginning chemo, and the scan showed no growth, which is a good sign. Chemo is going well so far, and she will start her third round of treatments in a few days. Thanks to everyone for your amazing support and generosity!
