Hello everyone,
For those of you who know my mom, I'm sure you're very well aware that as of the 1/1/20, Jeanne was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia, aka APL. APL is a rare type of leukemia that prevents the body from being able to make it's own mature cells. The week she was diagnosed, she required immediate hospitalization due to her blood counts being so low and to start immediate treatment. This was very sudden and shocking for our whole family to hear. Of course, Jeanne took the information in stride and was instantly ready to comfort her loved ones regarding her diagnosis and begin her battle. In true Jeanne fashion, her very first concern was how she couldn't take care of all of the pets who needed her!
Throughout the months of January and February, Jeanne required 6 weeks of hospitalization and daily chemotherapy to treat her cancer. Every day she was finding ways to put a smile on all the faces of those caring for her. No doubt, her room was the favorite for all the nurses, especially with all the candy she provided for them. She wrote funny songs about her journey, connected with the nursing assistants and cleaning staff, bonded with the therapy dog and her owner and created her own little sanctuary in her room. Though she put on a brave face every day and always found a way to smile, the journey was not an easy one.
Thankfully, her cancer is being successfully treated; however, this has left a very large burden of medical bills. This is the reason I am reaching out to all of you. For those of you who know Jeanne, she truly has devoted her life to helping others. She spreads kindness to every single person she meets whether she knows them or not. She always offers a helping hand and is there for anyone who needs her, especially me. Please consider giving back to this wonderful woman who has shaped all of our lives in a profoundly positive way. Every small donation will help her in such a tremendous way. She would never be one to ask for help such as this, but I know that it's incredibly important for her to continue living a normal life. Please consider helping Jeanne who continuously shows her to support to all who know her.
We will continue to provide updates on Jeanne's progress, but for now, we are in a holding pattern as we continue to check lab tests. We are very hopeful that she has made it through the most difficult part of her journey.
Thank you so much for considering and know that every amount is greatly appreciated. Please share with anyone who you know might be interested in contributing.
Love,
Chelsey (Jeanne's daughter)
