Summer Companion Care
As a recent single Mom, I need help paying for companion care for my 21 year old son so I can work this summer. I have worked at my job at a United Methodist Church over two years. My boss and coworkers are very supportive and accommodating of my son and I. However, I need to maintain consistent, quality care for my son in order to do the best job I can for the church, church members and guests, and people our church helps with food, shelter, counseling, and a myriad of other needs each week.
I work 4 days a week and need care for 11 weeks at a cost of $112 per day. School ends on May 24, 2019 this year and his care needs to start May 27, 2019.
Our need is for this summer only. When he turns 22, he is eligible for day program services. This summer is the last bridge we need to cross before our financial outlook begins to improve because he will have more resources available.

Latest Update
Thank you all for your support! We exceeded our goal. Antone's care started last week and will continue through the end of July. His Mom feels a lightness and lack of stress she has not known in a while. I am grateful and look forward to this time putting me in a place where I am able to give some of the care that has been shown to me to another in need one day.

Antone's summer care started this week! We have what we need to cover most of the summer with the exception of three weeks. This revised goal includes cost savings from a visit to Grandma's that we are planning for early July. I am grateful to everyone who supported us to date. I am overwhelmed by how you and God have come through. Antone' is familiar with his caregiver and is enjoying his summer respite. Having Char care for Antone' while I am at work has allowed me to focus better while I am there.

Thank you all! We are more than halfway to our goal. In addition to prayers as well as financial and volunteer support, I also received a number of leads for assistance. I expect to follow up on the leads after the end of the conference I'm attending for work this week.

A loved one volunteered to provide care for one week. I added the savings ($448) as a contribution. 17 days covered, 27 more to go. Thank you to all who have prayed, reached out, made a pledge to help, or given of your money and time. I appreciate you and are overwhelmed by the amount of love Antone' and I have been shown.

Thank you for your encouragement and support on and offline. In one day, you shared enough with Antone' and I to cover almost 7 of the 44 days of care. 37 days of funding to go.
