On Monday, June 3, Natasha was driving home from work when another driver caused a pile-up accident that left Natasha suffering from multiple injuries. After being rushed to the emergency room, she spent several sleepless nights in the hospital, with her mother Annette by her side, as doctors tried to manage her pain.
Natasha is now staying with family who is helping to take care of her young daughter, Leah, and manage day-to-day tasks. While she feels blessed to have the support of her friends and family, the accident has been tough on her as she’s worried about missing work and her bills are a constant source of stress. Still, she continues to work toward recovery for herself and her daughter, who is only 5 years old, with the strength that has come to define her.
In less than 4 years, and only just into her 20s, Natasha has had to learn how to navigate the world in more ways than a young person should. At 19, she had Leah with her fiancé Jaime. They were planning to move into a home together, raise Leah and start their family.
On a snowy morning on March 18, 2016, Jaime drove to an office park in Littleton to begin his shift. At 5 a.m., he was shot to death by two unknown assailants who stole the plow truck and left it to burn two miles away.
Leah was set to turn two that April. To this day, Natasha doesn’t have closure on who killed her fiancé. But for her daughter’s sake, and in the memory of Jaime, she kept moving forward. Through hard work, she purchased her own townhome and began working at HomeSphere as a customer success representative.
While Natasha’s family is helping her as much as they are able, the accident has deeply impacted Natasha and the stability she’s worked to maintain. She is currently trying to plan for and organize the bills she is facing. If you are able, please donate to help her and her family navigate through this time.
