The best news came today...Ivory's therapy doctors feel that because she is progressing so well she would greatly benefit from another week of intensive inpatient therapies! We were schedule to be discharged next Friday the 29th, we will now be discharged on Friday April 5th. We feel blessed that they are so dedicated to her rehabilitation and want to see what more they can get her to do! Way to blow them away Ivory girl!

March 18th- Haven't shared an update in a day or two. Ivory has been out enjoying the Seattle weather, visiting family and buying new shoes that fit her customized butterfly leg brace (she designed it herself). Her PT therapist put lifts in them (soon to be orthotics) and she was walking up a storm today! Go Ivory Go! Video on Facebook "Ivory Rose carl"

Yes it does 😇😇😇

from Chara yesterday. Our amazing princess is 1 week post-op today. With the help of PT/OT she sat on the edge of her bed for over 2 minutes on her own. The highlight of her day was getting in the shower. She smiled as the water ran down her body! The rest of the day was spent resting.

Today the neurosurgery team came by for their morning rounds and said that Ivory is exceeding all their expectations! She had her drain tube taken out this afternoon during a special visit from her Aunt Lisa and Cousin Desiree. They brought with them a sparkly unicorn balloon which she immediately noticed. Oh how she loves sparkles. Another favorite song of hers, "Shine bright like a diamond". My darling you are the shining light that sparkles brighter than all diamonds combined.

Gods prayers have been answered so happy for the continuous wonderful news Love you guys

Big day for our girl. Out of bed and on to Daddy's lap she goes! Listening to REO speedwagon "Keep on loving you" , snuggle buggin and not wanting to get back in bed. Precious and miraculous all in the same moment. Heart pounding pride!

Ivory is having a great day. Just had PT and sat up so good. We worked her legs, neck and tummy muscles while giving her a sponge bath...oh that feels good. She powered through it, gave us some smiles and we could not be more proud of her will to gain mobility again on her right side. She uses her left hand to move her right hand which is exactly what she needs to be doing at this point. She is even giving us some attitude!

We are moving on out of ICU! Ivory's goals for the day: eat, drink, sleep and all therapies (OT,PT,Speech). She is doing better than expected. Rather than being woken up every hour she has been moved to 4 with neuro checks in between. She is much more aware of what's going on so with that comes our devotion to keeping her spirit alive while managing her pain. Go Ivory Rose go. You got this baby girl! We walk in the power of your strength to guide you and clear the path to your accomplishments. We love you darling.

Yes! This is great news! Oh she just melts my heart 😀

AT 2 PM today- Chara posted "Ivory Rose had a good first night post-op. All is going as expected and she is impressing the drs already. She said a few words, has great vitals, is resting calmly and will have an MRI this afternoon to check on inflammation and drain tube. Standard procedure after hemispherectomy. We are still in ICU and the team here is amazing. She is watching Moana now in between naps. With all the love and gratitude we appreciate everyone's support and love for Ivory."

Relieving news, Ivory is out of surgery and everything went very well. This procedure was no doubt the best step for Ivory. The disease was far worse than previously seen on the scans. Initially, she won't be able to move the right side of her body. She is being moved to the PACU shortly. Then to the ICU. The goal is to have her wake up and have the breathing tube removed. I will post more when I hear more from Chara- Love Jen PLEASE visit her facebook page and follow "Ivory Rose Carl"

What an amazing and bittersweet weekend. Our good friend Jen came for a visit and she brought the most amazing surprise; Ivory's best friend Hailey! Those two had such a fun weekend. Ivory was also surprised by 3 personal videos from 7 different NFL players, 6 from the New england patriots and 1 from the New york Giants! We spent the weekend packing for our move to Seattle. Geoffrey and I took the time to live in our moment, love on our doggies, kitties and say goodbye to this sanctuary we call home. Heading East will be very difficult, but we face this journey with the strength and love from our friends and family. We couldn't be more grateful for all of the support and donations that we have received. We love you all. Jen is creating a FB page for Ivory. We want to thank everyone for their generous donations and kind words of support. The outreach of love and prayers has been amazing. We could not be venturing down this journey with our darling Ivory Rose without the love and support of each and every one of you. We will be heading to Seattle this upcoming Sunday. They will have her in a functional MRI on the 19th and then will be preparing her for surgery on the 20th. From there she will go into ICU for 2 to 3 days and from there will be transferred into the regular care area. They will begin therapy with her almost immediately. We may not know how many functions she will have on the right side of her body or what language skills will be intact for several weeks/months. Once we are out of the ICU we will provide another update. Love to you all.
