A message from Ryder's parents(Kyle Lewis & Izzy Spaan)
Our son Ryder was born on December 3, 2020. As many of you know, there were complications during delivery, Ryder was eventually delivered via a delayed emergency C-section. Ryder was in the NICU at USCF Children's Hospial for almost the entire first month of his life. After being told that Ryder may not live, to get see him smile & hear him laugh we know we are not only experiencing a miracle, but that our son has a will to thrive!
The first 5 years of Ryder’s life are critical in creating new pathways in his brain & increasing all of his abilities - therapy is key for this. Ryder's future is filled with possibilities so as a family we are committed to maximize every ability our miracle son has & celebrate his accomplishments every chance we get! Ryder’s(& Izzy's) weeks are spent in various appointments with intellectual therapists, hearing therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and chiropractors, etc.
We can not thank our family & friends enough for their love & support throughout Ryder's first year. The generous funds that were raised for his birthday have given him the opportunity to attend a DMI therapy intensive this summer & we're excited to see how this will benefit Ryder's muscle tone & movement. As this approaches, there will be additional costs associated with this & we greatly appreciate contributions toward that. Most of all, we are so grateful for all of you keeping us & Ryder in your thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Kyle, Izzy & Ryder
