Hi friends! John and I have begun the process of getting licensed for foster care. We are excited, nervous and everything in between to start this journey. Our heart is for teenagers. We feel every child deserves a forever home and no child should have to age out of the system. The money raised will be going towards updating our older home to prepare it for children in our home to be comfortable and safe. Thank you so much!

Latest Update

Hello! I just wanted to post a quick update for those who haven’t heard. Our windows passed the Fire Marshall inspection. Woohoo!! Next steps: we have a few things to take care of. Putting lattice on our basement steps to creat me a barrier so a kid can’t fall off the side of them, replacing a few switches and capping a few gas lines that the furnace guys left open 😳. Thankfully the valves were shut off. We have a two day foster to adopt virtual training in July. After that we will meet with the case manager to move forward on being matched with a child. Yay!! Thanks for your continued love, prayers and support!

We had our home study on May 13th. The major thing that came from this is our windows may be too small in the bedrooms. The State Fire Marshall will be coming to do an inspection on Monday, June 6th so we will know more after that. We are also in the process of transferring our licensing from the county to a private agency called North Homes. There is a 2 day pre-adoptive training course we will be attending in July. The advantage of the private agency is we are assigned a case manager that will match us with a child. The child can come from anywhere in the State as opposed to just our local county. We’ve seen God working and providing throughout this whole process. It has been so encouraging! Thanks for following along!

Hi sweet supporters…we are cooking with gas here at the Johnson household! The upstairs is complete painted and floored. We just have to stain the trim and doors, replace knobs and add baseboard!! This is the after picture of the bedroom. I can only upload one photo per post so you don’t get the before unless you see it on FB or IG ☺️ Thank you again for all your love and support! We are experiencing God’s abundance first hand through you!!

Some of the updates we’ll be making include: new flooring upstairs where children’s bedrooms are located, painting all the walls upstairs, installing a barn door for the basement bathroom (painting or wallpapering the walls around it also), installing a new laundry sink. Ours does not drain correctly and is in pretty rough shape. We will also be updating the main floor bathroom. It does not have a shower and the layout is inconvenient for more people than just John and I! We look forward to sharing before and after photos with you!
