Thanks for supporting this journey of love! Aimee, a poet/educator and Einar (Tito), a professional musician, met in Cuba in 2016 and they fell in love, continuing to maintain their connection across the seas over the course of the past three years. In 2018, Tito was sadly rejected from an artist visa to work in the United States which would have enabled him to witness their son’s birth. The couple recently were married in July 2019 and their beautiful child, Isagani Iré, is currently 1 year old. Aimee has been raising their son alone, making two visit so far with their newborn to Cuba for Tito to meet his son.
It has been extremely hard for Tito to miss out on moments and milestones in his son's life, and for Aimee to have to rely on video chats for her partner's support, while shouldering the primary responsibility for their son in the costly Bay Area. While friends and family have gathered to be a Village, Tito's unwilling absence is deeply felt.
Under this administration, with additional delays in a harsh climate of immigration, it is especially challenging and may be a long time, estimated at minimum year and possibly more from the filing in Sept, before they can live together as a family, but they are determined, and your support will help make this happen.
The spouse petition process is complicated and costly, including travel (est $1000 or more each time), marriage (which was done in a third country, certificates, travel and room and board at $3000+), and the application for a visa with the help of a lawyer to ensure they have the best chance of success (est $5000+). In the meanwhile, Aimee hopes to visit several times so that their son will know his father for moments that are irreplaceable. The costs may exceed what is posted here, because there are many unknowns; any contribution will give a boost, since Aimee was unemployed for 9 months and now a working mom managing the process and singly-parenting. Aimee and Tito are kept united across the seas by their love and commitment and the belief their family will be together. Isagani is Filipino for "abundant harvest" and Iré is a Santeria/Yoruba term for "blessings." He has truly been a blessing to their family -- in Cuba, the United States, and the Philippines.
Your contribution will help with any of the above costs, and help ease the journey !
Thank you for your support of the Leliebre-Suzara family's unification.
