Can you believe it's been 10 years? A whole dang decade!
This is not just a high school reunion, but a moment to reconnect and reflect together on the past 10 years. We invite you to think about what has shaped you these last ten years. This time is both a celebration of the successes, and the growing pains, but also is a commemoration for those we may have lost and to those still finding their way. While this is a celebration, we know many of us have experienced hardships since graduating from HS. Authenticity is nothing to be afraid of, and in fact, something to be appreciated! We may have a lot more in common now than we ever did in high school.
We have a venue picked out, the ArtWorks in Wilmington. It's a beautiful space with 45+ different local artists works. In the warehouse each artists space is decorated like a different little house and it's super cute. It also has a big open area inside where we can all congregate and chat. In addition to that, the space is also near downtown, a block away from one of the best rustic-modern bars in Wilmington, Satellite, a block away from the airy and chic Benny's Big Time restaurant, and honestly provides a wonderful environment to explore and reconnect that isn't sterile or cliche.
We just need funds to secure the venue, thus our Plumbfund! (it's free, easy to use and doesn't charge us crazy fees to withdraw funds) In order for us to secure the venue we need $1500, this is apparently pretty much the standard rate all around Wilmington. To get the necessary supplies, name tags, invitations, and maybe hors d'oeuvre's we need at least another $500. And to rent, stock the bar and have a bartender we need another $1000. So, were looking to collectively gather around $3000, if not more. The more we get, the more bougie we can get.
We're asking everyone to contribute $25 per person to get everything booked and put in to place. We chose $25 because it's not an exorbitant amount and if everyone contributes we should have enough to cover our costs and then some. Any additional amount will be donated to a local charity to help enrich our wonderful community. As funds are contributed just check back to this page to see the amount collected and our progress toward our goal.
The date we're looking at is November 29th. We are looking at that day because it's a Friday, a holiday weekend, and if you have ever gone out during Thanksgiving weekend you know that you tend to run in to a ton of people visiting for the holiday and it's a ton of fun. We hope to maximize the attendance and really be able to being everyone together!
