Started by: Thomas Byrum
Hello, my name is Thomas but my friends call me Thommy. I am a born-again Christian man who is in Recovery from drug addiction and homelessness and I currently have 6 months clean and sober. I work part time at a ministry-based Thrift store called 2nd Chance where all the proceeds go to fight addiction and homelessness here in my home town of Fresno California. I don't make enough money with my current employment situation to cover my expenses and finance do the things in life that will move me forward such as education. As with my Christian employers, I also have a heart and desire to give back to my community to fight addiction & homelessness. I want to spread the word of GOD by sharing my testimony of success from addiction and the value of education and capitalizing on the God-given talents we all have been blessed with to better ourselves, while never forgetting to aways be thankful for the grace paid for by the redeeming blood of Jesus. Additionally, I am reminded through scripture that we are to support ourselves (2Thes 310-12) so as not be a burden on others and moreover, to allow us to give to others as we are able. To that end, I have prayerfully considered the pursuit of this crowd-funding option to help pay for certain training that will help me move forward toward self-sufficiency and the next steps God would have for me. The training I am pursuing would allow me guaranteed employment opportunities upon successful completion of training process.
