Disabled, waiting for SSDI & financial hardship:

All of us go through hard times at one point or another, sometimes you get to a point where you can’t do it all alone, and you have to swallow your pride and ask for help.

Most of you know that I have been out of work since having a silent heart attack Spring/Summer of 2015. Since then I’ve been diagnosed with multiple chronic illnesses that make it extremely difficult to work and maintain my home. I have to cook/make almost all my own meals (because of these food allergies: Lemon, MSG, Sesame Seeds, Corn Starch, Gluten, Pumpkin & Ginger). On top of trying to manage all of my health issues and make it to all my doctor appointments.

Since being out of work I have exhausted my savings, retirement, a life insurance policy, sold items, including all of my camera gear. I also borrowed money from my parents. That is humiliating for me and hard on them.

I’ve always donated my time and skills to those in need and a variety charities, after much research it turns out I don’t qualify for any of those services, not even United Way.

Nobody is an island, we all need help from time to time.

If you can find it in your heart to help me through this difficult time I would be so grateful! I am learning how to accept the kindness and generosity that so many offer with humble thanks. Perhaps that is my greatest life lesson?  Thank you!
