Trying to bring home my special needs son who was removed (in IL) from the bio-mother. To do this my family needs to relocate from CT to IL where the programs/services are that the courts deem acceptable for my son's needs.

The judge has expressed concern that moving him out of State would be too traumatic (due to his special needs)after leaving the foster home he's been in the last few years.

To accommodate this we must cover moving and the expenses for about 2 months while I settle into work, of which I am trying to crowd fund about half of what is needed for the move.

Latest Update

We had to get rid of about 3/4 of our furniture and use the smallest truck available for a one-way move, but we did get the family and most of our belongings into storage in the new State. We are currently in a hotel for about 2 weeks, as we wait for one of the homes to be completed for our family to move in. The one we had first hoped to get was given to someone else, because something (not disclosed to us) delayed our approval. I suspect it had something to do with employment/income concerns as I am starting a new job rather than being able to transfer my previous work. Our current situation, due to the hotel stay, still leaves us about $1,000.00 behind what we need for the move-in. This includes the costs for getting utilities turned on etc. As soon as they tell us the home is ready to be viewed, I will be taking a walk-through & signing the lease, and post a picture of us at the home.

We have changed the destination city for our move, in order to cut the expenses considerably. The new city will still be within driving distance of everything for my son. We have also gotten rid of several pieces of furniture, to reduce costs as well. Both changes were required as this fundraiser is going to be the only way to cover the moving of our belongings.

We have high hopes for one property in particular tomorrow & hope to put a deposit down before we would have to return home from here to get pets from the caregivers.
