...The Journey of Renatka Kontaris...
An incredible woman with an amazing story who we all know and love as Renee. Simply put, Renee, a former elementary school teacher, along with the love of her life and husband of 16 years, Spiro Kontaris, their sole provider, have raised four beautiful angels: Robert (13), Ana (10), Sophia (7) and Peter (6). They are the most selfless people you would ever meet, and have truly endured the impossible.
She tragically lost her sister Monika in April 2015 to breast cancer, before herself being diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) in April 2016. After massive surgery and treatments, with a recurrence of cancer cells in her skin, only a month after this procedure... complications included lymphedema, recurrent cellulitis, a leaky tricuspid heart valve, and several hospitalizations. Never a victim, Renee fought back with a vengeance and survived IBC, tackling multiple treatments and astonished everyone to become cancer-free.
Recently, the tides have changed as she was re-diagnosed with IBC again in April 2018. The care of her health has been a real struggle as she relentlessly fights with an unparalleled courage. As you can imagine, the medical bills are astronomical and we are reaching out to ask for your help, thus the reason for the benefit. If you are not able to attend, we are graciously asking if you can donate, anything at all, if possible. All proceeds will help Renee & her family have a chance to survive the medical financial hardship they have endured along this journey.
♥️ She is the bravest woman on Earth. Now brave enough... to let us ask you for help ♥️
UPDATE!
The benefit held for Renee was an amazing success, over 300 adults & children attended! Renee (barely) survived Sepsis in early January, and had a large skin graft and lung/thoracic procedure on 1/25/2019 that went well! Please continue the prayers, we are truly grateful as they are heard! We are still on the journey to reach Renee’s goal, and we thank you for any contribution you may be able to give, every little bit will help! ♥️
