Reunite Patrick and Conor

At the urging of his friends, Patrick has allowed me to create this fundraising campaign to bring his son Conor for a visit this summer. Patrick has had many years of difficulty and financial hardship due to his multiple disabilities. This has made it impossible for him to afford the cost of the expensive plane ticket needed Conor for his annual visits. Conor is an amazing kid who loves gaming and greatly enjoys (and NEEDS!) his time with his dad. Please GIVE now and SHARE this campaign, to reunite this father and son.

Patrick has a rare form of epilepsy that, without medication, is life-threatening. Though he is a candidate for a brain surgery that could help, his insurance will not cover the out-of-state costs at the Cleveland Clinic. He also has other disabilities, which together make it impossible and unsafe for him to hold employment. Patrick is currently maintaining with medication, and his day to day life is overrun by the complications of his disabilities. Because of these difficulties, Patrick has had many years of financial hardship. He has had a really hard time of it, and is indebted to his friends for their prayers, encouragement, and support through these difficult years.

Years ago, Patrick was a loving, attentive stay-at-home-dad to his son Conor. Due to marital conflict however, Conor has lived with his mother across the country since 2011. Conor's separation from Patrick is a long story that would break your heart. The entire story involves a lot of sensitive information that is in Conor's best interest to keep private. Suffice it say that Patrick has made many efforts to stay in close touch with his son and bring him for the weeks that the court has entitled him to through the years.

While many of us are vacationing with our families or sending our kids to camp, Patrick is longing to spend just the two week minimum the courts have given him to spend with his son every year. Conor is an amazing kid who loves gaming and greatly enjoys his time with his dad. As Patrick's financial difficulties have increased, it has become more difficult to fund the expensive unaccompanied minor plane ticket to bring Conor for his annual visits. Last year, Patrick was unable to afford the ticket for his visit, making it TWO YEARS since Conor has spent any physical time with the dad that he loves and misses. He is 13 now, and while Patrick mourns the years he has missed with his son, he is determined to make the most of their time together during their summer visits.

I am asking you to help Conor and Patrick to have some much-needed father/son time this summer. The amount needed is $1600. This will cover Conor's travel, as well as some special meals and activities that will help make their time extra fun and memorable.

Patrick needs to arrange Conor's travel as soon as possible, so we are trying to get the first $1000 covered quickly! We would like to see this campaign funded by the end of June to ensure that Patrick can arrange travel. If 32 people give an average of $50, the need will be completely met. We have chosen to use Plumfund over more popular crowdfunding sites due to it's low fees, allowing our gifts to Patrick to go further.
