Have you ever had one of those days where the knocks just keep coming? Every time you get one thing taken care of, something else pops up? Well that has been our YEAR!!! (I know many of you can relate 😢)
As most of you know, Jamie had a work injury on February 12 that resulted in two knee surgeries and a DVT (blood clot) and has yet to be able to return to work. We’ve been operating on 2/3 pay since then and it has caught up with us.
A month ago we found out our home was to be sold December 17th at 9 am unless we came up with a large sum of money. We are blessed to have three amazing people in our life that loaned us the money to take care of that crisis. Jamie and I have also been working with a friend and financial advisor to get all money things taken care of and back on track.
For the first time in what feels like a lifetime (kinda literally) we finally felt okay/secure. We had all our December bills paid with the exception of our personal property taxes AND we saved our house!! Life was feeling pretty safe. (I don’t say good because even with our hardships this year life has been GOOD!)
Then the mail came today. Since we were a week late with our KCPL payment plan bill we were removed from the repayment program. All of the past due amount is now due immediately. We have until December 27th to come up with $627.40 to avoid disconnection.
We’re so close to making this huge financial breakthrough and this setback really hurts. So, if anyone is feeling generous this holiday season...we would love for your help in offsetting even some of the cost of this latest hurdle and allow us to continue on our journey to financial stability. We would be incredibly grateful for any help! Thank you!
