As most of you are aware, Officer Adam Coy was involved in a critical incident in the early morning hours of 12/22/2020.

What you may not know is Adam wanted to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps who was a Delaware Police Officer since childhood.  He left for the U.S. Army two days after graduating high school, becoming a Military Police Officer throughout his five-year service both home and abroad.

After his enlistment he graduated from the Delaware Joint Vocational police academy, he then became a Delaware Correctional Officer until beginning his employment with the Columbus Division of Police on July 9, 2001.

Adam graduated from his third police academy of his career at CPD and has proudly served the Columbus community for the last 19 ½ years.  He has been a firearms instructor for 12 years, received numerous awards and accommodations in addition to selflessly “adopting” multiple at risk children throughout his tenure, helping various youths by stopping by providing meals, stopping by their homes to check on things like homework, chores and behavior.

In addition to being a veteran and officer, Adam is a spouse and father of three.  His wife is disabled due to a past car accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury.  She now battles various health issues as a result, and is unable to work. Adam is the sole provider for his family, who without his support, are facing dire financial situations between the loss of income and health benefits throughout this unprecedented abortion of justice.  Under normal circumstances, this is a highly stressful event.  Likewise, under the same normal circumstances, the independently appointed BCI would have been allowed to conduct their investigation and get the officer’s statement PRIOR to the termination of an officer.  However, the political machine of Columbus, Ohio, Mayor and Police Chief have used this family as a disposable pawn in nothing more than to appease a mob from rioting and destroying the city.

The Coys are not people who ask for help, but at this time, we are asking that you back the Thin Blue Line and assist our struggling family with anything you can to help us survive this nightmare.  All donations will go to maintaining a stable home for the family, as well as cover medical expenses and the expenses of everyday life.  We are sure that eventually the proper procedure will occur (outside the media’s view) but it could take a long time for the truth to be told.  We thank you for your generosity and kindness in our time of need.
