Update:
Thank you everyone so much for donating! This is Emma. I had a wonderful time and learned so so so much at the conference. So much that it has taken me much longer to transcribe my notes than I had originally anticipated. I am still working on them, but in addition to the constant job search as well as creating new acts so I can continue to supplement my existence through performing it is a very time consuming process. Thank you so much for your patience as I finish up a whole bunch of projects in order to dedicate the proper time and attention to this very important one. This would not have been possible without your help, and I cannot tell you how much it means to me. Thank you all so so so much!
Love,
Emma
Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by!
My partner, Emma, has been working towards her dream of becoming a sex educator for several years now.
Through many personal and professional setbacks, she continues to persist due to her strong belief in the absolute necessity of the work she is trying to do. After recently losing her job at Planned Parenthood due to organizational restructuring, she is again attacking the job market and searching for the ideal company with which to continue her life-changing work.
The National Sex Ed Conference hosted by the Center of Sexual Health and Pleasure is being held this April in Newark, New Jersey, and provides a unique opportunity for networking, job searching, education, and professional development. While a grant had been hinted at by her previous employer, Emma now finds herself without any income at all, let alone a professionally funded registration for the conference, and registration for the conference ends at the end of this month.
This opportunity would be invaluable for Emma’s personal and professional edification, and I want to do everything in my power to help her attend. Emma and I are only asking for the bare essentials- the registration fee for the conference, and a small amount of money for gas and tolls. Emma will commute to and from the conference from my house (approximately 30 minutes away) rather than stay at a hotel, and will pay for meals not otherwise provided by the conference herself.
Emma has also agreed to disseminate her notes from all of the classes she attends over the course of the three day conference to any and all donors who express an interest. Donors giving $100 or more may select a specific class from the schedule to have Emma attend and to debrief you on upon completion of the conference.
Any help that you can spare would be appreciated, thank you Darrel
