Started by: Portage North Middle School
NMS opted to not participate in the magazine fund drive at the beginning of the school year. That program brought about $6000 annually to our school's general fund and paid for school safety programs, student incentives, school wide parties, field trips, books for reading intervention, staff appreciation and more.
We are trying to fill that loss by increasing our donations to our annual Road Rally / Donation Drive from $6000 to $12000. In order to do that we will need to average $50 per student. Not every family will be able to meet that request, so if your family is able to give more, please consider doing so.
Below are some of the activities funded by PNMS PTO:
- student incentives
- school wide parties
- teacher/classroom grants
- field trips
- books for reading intervention
- holiday and year end celebrations
- teacher conference dinners (fall donation request)
- teacher appreciation week (fall donation request)
- popcorn for sporting events

Here is a checklist that might help you determine your donation level.
Entree for teacher conference dinners: $20-30 x (1 or 2) ____________
Dessert for teacher conference dinners: $10-20 x (1 or 2) ____________
Teacher appreciation week gifts and lunch: $25-50 ____________
