For hundreds of years indigenous people have fought to protect sacred land and resources. Today, Mauna Kea is under attack. Mauna Kea is a sacred mountain to the indigenous people of Hawaii. It is under threat to be blown up so that a telescope can be built, although 13 telescopes exist on this mountain and are being unused.

It is important for us to stand in solidarity with our relatives on the islands. We wish to join in prayer and strength so we can continue to support each other and protect sacred sites.

This money will go to the plane tickets of indigenous youth and elders, so we may join our relatives in protecting Mauna Kea. Anything left over will be used to support another activist or be used as emergency funds - There’s a history of indigenous land defenders being attacked and incarcerated for their right to protect sacred sites and resources.

Raymond L Kingfisher - Cheyenne frontlines activist. Educator. Public Speaker. Organizer. Protected water at standing rock and continues to protect the land and wildlife from pipelines, dams, and corporations.

Danny Leclaire - Shoshone-Bannock frontlines activist. Water protector at standing rock. Human rights activist. From Washington DC to the southern border in Texas, Danny is a courageous and dedicated youth activist that shows support where its needed.

Chris Esponda - Mayan water protector, human rights and immigrant rights activist. Founder of the DACA facebook page.
