Our late mother, Harlem educator extraordinaire Vernita Davis Crawford, was the only one of her siblings to graduate from college. Born and raised in Harlem, she always told us that the tips her father received from being a skycap at Newark Airport sent her to college. Just like those tips sent my mother to college, we are asking our village to use a "tipping approach" to help send other students in need to college! The cumulative impact of all of our "tips" can be great and help change the trajectory of students' lives! "When you've been blessed, pass it on!" It is a blessing to continue the legacy of supporting and encouraging students in honor of our mother, Vernita E. Davis Crawford, and grandmother, Naomi E. Ogletree Davis!
