Hi friends and family (and friends of friends)!
I am currently playing on the ITF World Tour and coaching at the USTA National Campus to support it (this is a tiring balance but I love to compete and achieve new heights in this sport, and coaching allows me to keep going. It's also amazing to give back to the sport that has given me so much). The entry level of the tour involves a lot of traveling to wherever in the world the tournaments are being held. It's an exciting opportunity! Just this year I’ve traveled to new continents and time zones, like Colombia (twice!) and the Republic of Georgia. But all this travel can be a cost-prohibitive process. These are experiences I never would have without tennis and the generous contributions from supporters thus far. Many players retire sheerly because of funding, but I'm giving it my best shot for at least the rest of 2019. I've reviewed my costs over the last 1.5 years on tour for training (coaches, court time, etc), equipment, and tournaments (~$1,000 a tournament on average) and really anything helps. Even if you could contribute a quick share to spread the word to anyone willing to donate, you would be helping. I feel SO blessed for all the love and support I have received for the last 20+ years of my career, and want to say thank you for any help you can give so I can continue to pursue this career!
