Impact Travel: Maya Academy Trip

Friends & Family,

As many of you know, I have been creating blog content and developing launches with Impact Everything, a store in Providence whose mission is to connect consumers with socially responsible goods. Through this work and other leadership opportunities, I have further developed a passion for education, and even more so for travel. I'm excited to let you all know that I am taking an opportunity to travel to Nepal this June with an incredible group of activists and humans! I am thrilled to be visiting Pokhara to volunteer at Maya Universe Academy and immerse myself in Nepali culture for two weeks with the Impact Everything and Impact Travel team.

Throughout my time in Nepal, I will be volunteering at the Academy doing various tasks such as cooking the student's meals, giving valuable academic help, and aiding with agricultural work around the school's property. I will also be taking part in local tourism activities such as paragliding, kayaking, and hiking near the beautiful Himalayan Mountains with the other volunteers! Impact Travel is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to building and supporting schools around the world through voluntourism. Voluntourism is a format of trip comprised of 50% volunteer based work and 50% tourism based adventure; the best of both worlds! Impact Travel's partner company, Impact Everything, sells gorgeous bracelets made by Maya Academy! This school holds a special place in our hearts and we are beyond excited to be working with them.

Each volunteer must pay a flat cost of $2,800 USD. This fee, paid to Impact Travel, covers housing, food, activity admissions, flight, and other costs associated with traveling overseas. It does not include vaccinations, spending money, or Visa fees, which will be paid for out of pocket. 100% of this campaign will be sent to Impact Travel to fund my attendance on this trip and their future efforts!

This trip is an incredible opportunity for me to grow professionally, personally, and as an activist. As a student, I have been so lucky to work with individuals who foster my creativity and passion, and by donating to this campaign, you are helping to ensure that continues through financial support. There's no better feeling than getting to learn through experience, and I can't wait to continue my work through opportunities like this.
