The Masquers Club of Hollywood (formed in 1925) possesses many items of historical significance and wishes to share as many of those treasures as possible with the public at large.
Many items in the Club's collection are candidates for publication in book form. Hence the formation of The Masquers Press, non-profit publishing company.
The first book to be published is "The Witticisms of Joe Frisco," a compilation of jokes (or "Friscoisms") by Joe's pals, including Jack Benny, Mervyn LeRoy, George Jessel, Joe E. Brown, Jack Mulhall, Fred Clark, Ralph Murphy, and many others. With a foreword by Walter Winchell -- and an audio recording of the Masquers dinner for Joe Frisco from 1958. This book has been waiting to be published since 1959!
For what do we need money?
-- business entity formation (all inclusive)
-- purchase of ISBN's
-- actual costs of printing 100 copies of the first book
What will you get in return for your contribution?
-- one printed copy of "The Witticisms of Joe Frisco" (minimum $25 donation)
-- an official thank you in the first book, you will be named unless you opt out (all donations regardless of amount)
