Greetings to family and friends of Katie (Kate)!
As many of you know, Katie will be 40-years old on August 29th! To celebrate, Katie, me (sister), Carrie (mom), Carla (sister), and April (sister-in-law) are going to Wine Country in California! We will be visiting between August 29-September 2.
The purpose of this Plumfund is to invite all of you - close family and friends - to join in celebrating Katie by sponsoring Wine Country experiences. I have included our full itinerary for the trip on this site so you can pick and choose if you want to participate!
Since Katie will not have a party and won't be accepting gifts, I think this is the perfect way to show her some extra love for this milestone birthday. I think we can all agree that she is one of the kindest, smartest, and most loyal people in our lives. :)
And last, although Katie knows about the trip, I have kept our entire itinerary and plans secret!!! All she knows is that we are visiting Sonoma and Napa :)
HOW IT WORKS
- You can select an experience and pay for it by credit card through the site. Or, you can select the option to send a check or provide cash to sponsor a gift.
- - Pay with credit card = funds are deposited into my (Callie) bank account. I will use these funds to pay for the experience onsite.
- - Pay with check = write a check to me (Callie) and I will deposit the funds to pay for the experience onsite. Or you can write a check to Katie, and I can present the check to her onsite for the experience.
- - Pay with cash = This will really only work if you are local to Kalispell and can give the cash to Carrie (mom) to transfer to Katie onsite for the experience. :)
- - Pay by Pay Pal/Venmo = You can transfer money to me directly if you prefer.
THE GOAL
My utmost hope is to surprise Katie at each experience by saying it is a sponsored birthday gift by a cherished person in her life! She has NO idea I have put this little fund together :) In fact, the entire itinerary is a surprise too! All she knows is that she's going on a girls trip to California Wine Country.
ACKNOWLEDGING THE GIFT
It is 100% essential that Katie knows who sponsored her experience! So my plan is that when we arrive onsite for each experience, I let her know that it is "sponsored by (sponsor name) as a birthday gift." I will then present her with a card (made by me, or provided by the sponsoring friend) showing the gift amount and information. I personally think a custom card from everyone would be sooo fun, which would be as simple as sending one in the mail to me personally to give her onsite!
With that, I want to thank you all for being Katie's friends and confidants. She is lucky to have you, and we are certainly lucky to have her.
-Callie
