As you've probably noticed, Amber loves baking. Whether she's baking pies, sourdough bread or an over-the-top themed birthday cake for a friend, the kitchen is her happy place.
That said, for the past couple of years she's been making her magic out of an utterly irrational and unpredictable oven. One which views the temperature setting as a suggestion. It was a freebie we found on Craigslist and, well... you pay for what you get. I know she's been hoping to upgrade for a couple years now, because she mentions it just about EVERY time she bakes. So...
If you want to SURPRISE her with a gift that will keep giving (to all of us in years to come!), I hope you'll consider kicking into this group gift. A kitchen appliance may not be the sexiest 40th birthday present, but I know it's something she'll absolutely love.
Ultimately, I'm guessing we'll end up spending $1000 for a reliable convection oven. (Unless you know a guy! :) And any dent you can make towards this would be amazing. PLUS, I'm sure she'll show her appreciation for you with some kind of yummy and inspired baked goods. That's just the kind of gal she is. :)
Thanks!
Scott
