Make Your Own!
Started by: Holly & Ken Brickley
In fifty years of marriage, Kim and Chuck have loved each other through thick and thin, raised two basically perfect children, enriched the lives of countless people through their work & artistry, and served us all more food & beers than we probably needed. This June, to celebrate these fifty amazing years (and sponsored in part by Mom's bourgeoning travel-nanny career) they're going to Italy!
A few of you have asked Kenny and I for gift ideas. Well, the traditional gift is gold, but these two aren't really the types for bling.... so if, and only IF, you want to get them a 50th gift, it is our humble suggestion to donate to their Italy trip. Don't give them a gold picture frame with hearts on it. Give them a glass of Prosecco, to be sipped under an awning during a brief rain shower in Luca! Give them a meal they will describe to us in detail for the next decade! Give them a train ride to the coast so Mom can jump in the sea and Dad can write haiku about the clouds!
This is entirely our idea so please don't feel pressured at all (and keep the contributions reasonable, ahem Pat). Just whatever you might've spent on a gift, if you were planning on getting them one. Or just give them a hug next time you see them!
Love, Holly & Ken
